The house has three bedrooms and sleeps six people comfortably.

The Great Room

This 600 square foot room is the house's social center, and is truly great. Half the room is dedicated to the completely renovated kitchen, while the rest is dominated by a dining and sitting area. The propane-fueled "woodstove" on a slab of Vermont bluestone keeps the large room effortlessly cozy for your cold-weather gatherings.

The kitchen features:

  • Gas range with electric convection oven
  • Stainless steel refrigerator with lower freezer drawer
  • Bosch silent dishwasher
  • Dual microwave/mini-convection oven
  • Large (3'x5') maple-topped island
  • Heavy pots and pans
  • Coffee maker, blender, and toaster
  • Table settings, glasses and mugs
  • Natural linoleum flooring
  • Large picture window (with a great view)

The dining and lounge area feature:

  • Round dining table (seats six)
  • Four straight-backed chairs
  • Two comfortable stuffed chairs
  • Additional chairs (kept in the closet for times of need)
  • Natural cork-tiled floor
  • Large bay window (did we mention the view?)

Bathroom

Lay back for a soak in the extra deep, extra long cast-iron and porcelain clawfoot tub. It may not be vintage 1830's, but it's been around longer than you have -- guaranteed.

If you just want to rinse off after an active day, the spacious tiled custom shower should satisfy your needs.

Living room

  • Futon sofa (folds into a full-sized bed)
  • Comfy high-backed chairs
  • Bookshelf with novels, books about local and nature topics, children's books, puzzles and games for all but the youngest.
  • Television with basic cable
  • Stereo and CD-player
  • High-speed internet hub for wireless and wired connections

Downstairs bedroom:

  • Writing table with chairs

Outdoors

Outside the back door, a stone patio features a full-size outdoor grill and seating. Slate steps lead onto a large grassy backyard, big enough for a large family picnic, volleyball, or a spirited game of Frisbee. The views of Bolton Mountain and Mount Mansfield are unobstructed year around.

In summer you may be treated to the literally thousands of lilacs that generally bloom around Memorial Day. Daffodils, lungwort, peonies, lilies, irises,… make an appearance as spring progresses into summer. In fall, maples are in full colored foliage and the sumacs in purple splendor. In winter, the Waterbury Reservoir can be glimpsed through leafless trees.

Access and Parking

The house is located directly on Route 100, the main road to Stowe. It's very easy to find, and you'll have no problem getting in or out in the winter. The road is always kept clear for access to Stowe, no matter how much snow there is. There's enough parking for three vehicles.
